GST Project “CircuMat-3D” in the SPRIND Challenge “Circular Bio-Manufacturing” – AHP Provides the TEA/LCA

As part of the “Circular Biomanufacturing” challenge by the Federal Agency for Disruptive Innovation (SPRIND), Global Sustainable Transformation GST GmbH, an affiliate of the AHP Group, was selected at the end of 2023 for funding in the first stage of the challenge with its “CircuMat-3D” project. The GST CircuMat-3D team, led by Dr. Mahmoud Masri, uses the patented FHCR process to produce fats and long-chain hydrocarbons from agricultural, bioenergy, and food waste in order to manufacture various technically interesting, and in some cases even edible, polymers. The goal of the CircuMat-3D project is the production of raw material (bioplastics) for additive manufacturing.

Against this background, AHP is developing an integrated techno-economic overall model for the industrial scaling of the production process (TEA) and for determining the carbon footprint of the products (LCA).
